Larissa Umulinga is a Seattle-based Rwandan photographer specializing in live music and artist portraiture, with a deep focus on African and Afrobeats culture. Over four years she has built a distinctive body of work that moves between the energy of festival stages and the intimacy of portrait sessions, always finding the humanity at the center of both.
Her live work includes assignments for DukeConcept, Blastfest, and Giants of Africa — shoots that have placed her alongside some of the biggest names in Afrobeats including Davido, Asake, Tyla, Tiwa Savage, Ruger, Adekunle Gold, Black Sheriff, Ayra Starr, Musa Keys, Simi, and Buju. Her editorial work has been published by The Brooklyn Circus, and her photography has been used as cover art for Spotify releases including SPICE by Pher and Sweet Afrosexy Summers. Her work has also been featured in Bubblegum Club.
Rooted in Rwanda and based in Seattle, Larissa brings a cross-cultural eye to every frame — drawn to the beauty that lives in performance, presence, and the spaces in between.
